Gabion wall - Ridgeway

15 July 2010 - Gabions Used
to Gain Access to Land All Year Round

A farmer on the Antrim Coast Road could not gain access to land during very wet times of the year. Local building contractor Gabriel Emerson recommended a mass retaining wall be erected. After investigating the various systems available a Gabion wall was considered the best option. Once the wall is erected the ground must be back filled, levelled and then compacted to allow access to heavy farm machinery.
