Kyowa Filter Unit Used with Traditional Gabions
Kyowa Filter Unit can be used in conjuction with a number of materials: sandbags, concrete blocks, and also traditonal gabions. When used alongside gabions Kyowa Filter Unit are normally installed to provide a stable base, or a level surface, so that gabions can be installed on uneven ground, curved or sloped areas. 
Applications
Kyowa Filter Unit are used for the lower sections of shore protection works, often for the underwater or waterline area providing a stable base for gabions.
They have applications in areas where curved or sloped surfaces would make installation of gabions problematic, for example, where precise levelling is needed.
Examples are in riverbank protection, earthworks for railways, and construction of dykes or temporary roads.

Kyowa Filter Unit are large corrosion-resistant nets manufactured from highly durable synthetic mesh, which Ridgeway can supply ready filled for delivery to your site. For more information on this and to learn about the filling process click here.
For areas where there will be exposure to ultra violet light and for marine settings the black S type is suitable. When placed underwater the porous construction allows for stable water flow.
For installation above the waterline this same charactersitic allows for re-growth of vegetation allowing the Filter Unit units to blend harmoniously into the surrounding environment.
The EcoGreen Filter Unit are also suitable for general riverworks.
